Through the chainlink fence that borders the old Purvis Young Museum, where one of the great outsider artist’s murals bakes distressingly in the afternoon sun, the warm fragrance of coffee can be found curling through the air. Comfortingly familiar but exotic for this nondescript jumble of warehouses in Progresso, where Andrews Avenue meets the railroad tracks, it is the smell of transformation in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
