COCONUT GROVE, Fla. (WSVN) — Students at a South Florida school now have a new reason to workout.

Thursday, Frances S. Tucker Elementary in Coconut Grove unveiled its new, state-of-the-art fitness center. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, students tried out the new equipment and also performed workout demonstrations.

The center was made possible with the help of Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho and Florida Governor Rick Scott. “Healthy minds, healthy bodies,” said Carvalho. “That’s what we’re seeking here. With the opening of this fitness center, we are changing lives around. We are improving quality of life for kids.”
