Pinecrest Volunteer Receives Annual Award – The Pilot Newspaper: News

A long-term contributor to the well-being of Pinecrest athletics was honored Tuesday in an annual ceremony for local school volunteers.

Tom Benton, who has served as a volunteer for athletics at Pinecrest for almost 15 years, was named as the recipient of the 12th annual Eileen Vansant Volunteer of the Year award. The event was held at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities in Southern Pines.

Moore County Schools Superintendent Bob Grimesey introduced Benton, who was chosen from a list of 22 volunteer nominees.
