The Federal Emergency Management Agency is reconsidering its 2013 decision to deny assistance to the Pinecrest Hills homeowners most affected by the landslides of April 2013. The federal agency invited the city to reapply for a grant to purchase and demolish seven houses on Kaitlin Court and Sunnybrook Avenue and then be reimbursed by FEMA at 75 percent of the cost. The city submitted its application in the middle of November. It’s not known how long it would take FEMA to make a decision.
