Pinecrest to host county golf tourney Posted by Social Media | Jul 12, 2015 | Pinecrest | 0 | LUMBERTON — With the Robeson County Golf Championship starting Friday, Jeff Wishart is hopeful that local golfers will come out in droves to compete for the county’s top golf prize. Wishart, president of the Robeson County Golf Association, said the signup process is just getting underway, but he expects more than 100 entries. “Anywhere between 100 and 110 would be good, ” said Wishart, who organizes the tournament. “If we can get 120 golfers, that would be great. “Last year was one of the best we’ve had. We’re looking forward to seeing more people sign up this week.” The deadline to enter the 35th-annual tournament is 5 p.m. Tuesday. The three-day event, sponsored by Dial Insurance, swings into action Friday at Pinecrest Country Club.
