Freshman Khadeen Carrington hit a go-ahead, spinning layup with 1:38 to play in overtime and Seton Hall knocked off its second ranked foe this week, defeating No. 6 Villanova 66-61 on Saturday. Kellen Dunham scored a season-high 28 points, including a pivotal 3-pointer with just more than two minutes left that helped the Bulldogs upset the No. 15 Red Storm in New York. The victory came one day after Butler removed the interim tag from Chris Holtmann’s title, making him the program’s new head coach. D’Angelo Harrison matched his season high with 31 points for short-handed St. John’s, which played its first game since second-leading scorer Rysheed Jordan left the team to deal with “personal and family matters” back home in Philadelphia. The third-ranked Cavaliers squandered a 19-point first-half lead and then came from behind in both extra periods to remain unbeaten by defeating the Hurricanes in double overtime at Coral Gables, Fla. Reserve guard Sam Logwood scored 15 points on perfect shooting to help the Lobos win in Albuquerque, N.M., and hand the 24th-ranked Rams their first loss of the season.
