“Bright Star,” the musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, has mapped out its route to Broadway, setting a pre-Broadway run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., prior to a planned opening in New York in spring 2016.
Walter Bobbie (“Chicago”) will direct the show, produced by Joey Parnes, the Tony-winning producerof “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” and “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.” Bobbie reprises his directorial duties on the show after staging its world premiere in September 2014 at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego.
