The San Francisco 49ers released former Missouri Tiger Aldon Smith after he was arrested Thursday night for his fourth time since joining the team in 2011.
“This organization has tried very hard to help Aldon fight his issues,” the team announced Friday afternoon. “Although he is no longer a member of this team, our support and concern for him will continue.
