Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs at Overtown’s iconic historic Booker T. Washington High School could solve the problem for affluent families living in the Brickell area and at the same time increase enrollment at the half-empty school. But at least one Miami-Dade Public Schools board member said the district can’t afford to apply for another IB program, leaving Booker T. lacking a core tool to meet the needs of international families living in the downtown area.
