CORAL GABLES — The team unity the Hurricanes speak about so often was on full display last Friday night.
That’s when the Hurricanes’ defense overcame a sluggish start to finish off scrappy Florida Atlantic, 44-20. The key to that, the players said Tuesday, was owning up to mistakes, such as missed tackles and blown assignments. That cut out the guesswork for coaches as they tried diagnose why the Owls were gaining so many yards and scoring so many points.
