Downtown’s Metromover is currently free of charge and has been since the creation of the Metromover system back in the 1980s. Well, city and county planners are now moving forward with motions to put a final vote on whether there should be a charge of $1 per ride on the Metromover. The costs to convert to a paid system will be between $2.4 million and $9 million (huge gap there don’t you think?) and could take years to recoup those costs as there’s also about $525,000 of ongoing annual maintenance….not including any issues that come along the way.
