King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia arrive in the city Friday morning. They will take a quick tour of the historic district, the Castillo de San Marcos and St. Augustine’s City Hall, then make a brief public address, then make a private visit to the Cathedral Basilica before attending opening ceremonies of the United States-Spain Council meeting at Flagler College.
The royal couple is spending a week in the United States. After touring Mount Vernon, King Felipe met with President Barack Obama at the White House where the pair discussed the importance of working together to ensure refugees are safe and treated with humanity.
