NEW YORK (AP) — Fans hoping to hear Placido Domingo conduct “Tosca” at the Metropolitan Opera will have to wait a little longer: The maestro is suffering from gallbladder pain and will have to go under the knife, missing the first five shows. Marco Armiliato will lead Friday evening’s opening performance of “Tosca,” and Paolo Carignani will conduct the performances on Oct. 21, Oct. 24 and Oct. 29 and Nov. 2.
