BROOKVILLE — Make it a three-peat for the Ridgway Elkers golfers, and it wasn’t even close.

The Elkers shot a four-man score of 339 to win their third straight Class AA team title at Monday’s District 9 Golf Tournament at Pinecrest Country Club, easily outshooting runner-up Venango Catholic’s 365, host Brookville’s 368 and Brockway’s 378.

Ironically, in a season filled with few or any holes played in the rain district-wide, all but a couple of holes were not played in the rain Monday at Pinecrest. It didn’t really matter to the Elkers, who will also send three players to the second round of individual play Saturday, also at Pinecrest.
