Negotiations went close to Friday’s 5 p.m. ET deadline, but the Marlins were finally able to complete a deal with University of Texas left-hander Dillon Peters. Miami selected Peters in the 10th round of the First-Year Player Draft in June. Entering Friday, the Indianapolis, Ind., native was the team’s only unsigned pick in the first 10 rounds.
