LeBron James is one of the greatest players in league history. But could his failure to evolve in one specific way be lowering the ceiling for his teams?
Something similar can be said about the NBA. The 2008 NBA finals looked so stylistically different than the finals of 2015 that it’s almost quicker to point out the similarities rather than the differences. Derek Fisher was the only starter for either team that shot over 40% from beyond the arc. The Celtics started three players that rarely even attempted a shot from beyond the three-point line in Kendrick Perkins, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo, while the Lakers routinely played with three players 6’10” or taller.
